Working together with Runnymede Council, Bouygues Development have rejuvenated the town centre in a £70million project; building 213 new homes, shops, restaurants, a hotel and cinema.
Liddiard Scaffolding Ltd was awarded the scaffolding contract for the town centre in 2015 with works starting on Phase 1 in March 2016. This contract is the biggest to date that Liddiard Scaffolding has undertaken with a contract value of £1.2million. We had an average team of 10 working on the scaffold, continuously throughout the contract.
Phase 1 saw the development of the retail and cinema complex. Numerous shops and restaurants were also built, to service the increasing population that was bought in by the 213 new homes, which were built in Phase 2.
The scaffold wasn’t a traditional access method, we worked alongside the steel frame installation teams ensuring the scaffold was always one floor ahead of them. After discussion with our contact at Apollo Tie Fixings we were able to tie to the steel frame structure using a sacrificial tie bracket set on the TG20:13 tie pattern from the compliance. The site had the use of two number tower cranes making the delivery and distribution of equipment easy to manage and less time consuming. The full duration of the works were comfortably completed within the 104 week time frame, with zero delays to the programme.
