TEMPORARY ROOF Full Re-Roofing and Window Replacement

We recently completed a full re-roofing and window replacement project at a property with complex requirements. The work included the installation of a temporary roof to ensure weather protection during construction. This temporary roof extended from the high-level roof to the lowest boarded level, providing a secure environment throughout the project.

Given the height of the temporary roof at 26 meters, we worked closely with the client to develop a lifting plan. The positioning of the mobile crane required precise measurements. To ensure the tarmac car park could handle the crane’s load, we scanned the area for underground services or voids before lifting began.

We used a System Temporary roof for efficiency in protecting the site from weather. It also allowed us to keep the scaffold frame as low as possible, despite the roof beam sections being approximately 27 meters in length. Planning for ground-level construction was essential to safely lift and position these beams.

The building’s location within a high-security complex posed additional challenges. We adhered to strict security controls, with all staff requiring daily passes, and restricted the work area to comply with security regulations.

Key scaffold dimensions included:

  • •Building perimeter: 138 meters with 12 lifts
  • •Height to underside of the temporary roof: 26 meters
  • •Temporary roof apex height: approximately 31 meters
  • •Temporary roof span: 23 meters
  • •Temporary roof area: 1,250 square meters
Our team installed protective walkways to ensure safe access for all staff and visitors. Our experienced working supervisor led the smooth erection and dismantling of the scaffolding. We maintained close communication with the client and their representatives throughout the project, resulting in a successful outcome.
