Richardsons (Nyewood) – Exbury House

Written by Charlotte Sawkins | Posted Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024 Posted in News

We are proud to support the restoration of the historic Exbury House. Exbury House is a Grade II listed building with a rich 18th-century heritage. Originally built in the 1700s, the house was redesigned and refaced in 1927 by Lionel de Rothschild, who purchased both the house and its renowned gardens in 1919. Exbury House played a key role during WWII, having been requisitioned in 1942 for use as a stone frigate.

Our team has successfully completed phases 1 and 2 of the project, providing scaffolding for comprehensive stonework repairs on the façade and chimneys of the main house. We are now moving into phase 3, focusing on scaffold support for restoration works on the courtyard area.

This project is a testament to our commitment to preserving historic structures while ensuring safety and precision throughout the renovation process.
